Distance learning can be almost impossible if you don’t have the tools you need at home. For JCCC students that is no problem. The first and second floors of the library are now where student resources are located and have everything you need to succeed this semester and beyond. One of the things you can do is check out a zoom room which is a quiet one person room for when you have online classes. To book one now go to https://jccc.libcal.com/reserve/lrcstudyrooms.

If you don’t have a laptop or computer for zoom classes the Student Resource Center has your back. You can check out a laptop or book a zoom room where there is already a computer for your online classes. You cannot bring the laptop home but can check it out to use however long you need as long as you stay in the Resource Center. If you are interested in checking a laptop out make sure to head to the first floor of the library and go to the Academic Achievement Center for more information.

Whether you need a tutor in math, science, writing, foreign language, etc. The Student Resource Center has someone for you. There are tutors for every subject already there so whenever you need help just check in with the Academic Resource Center located on the first floor of the library and they can set up with a recurring tutor or someone who can help whenever you have a question.

On the first and second floors of the library, there are study areas all over where you can safely social distance and get your work done.

Every center has its own corner and can be found very easily. This center photographed is the Academic Resource Center. If you need help with finding something specific such as a certain tutor for math, renting a calculator, etc. Make sure to go to that department, but if it is a general question you can visit the Academic Resource Center. This center offers organization help, one-on-one tutoring, career path help, study skill sessions and much more.

The new Stacks Café is located on the first floor of the library and has snacks, pastries and coffee plus other drinks. Whether you haven’t had breakfast or need a boost of energy this café is here for you Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Keeping students safe is the top priority at the college and at the Student Resource Center, they make that known. There are multiple quiet nooks where you can study and have all the space to yourself. If you need another area to go, the CoLab is located in OCB 100 and the hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
