Sustainability within the fashion world has been booming and it won’t be going away anytime soon. The college’s Fashion Club president, Aaliyah Pierce, has made an all sustainable fashion line for this year’s show. The fashion show will be hosted by the Fashion Program at JCCC and will be online due to COVID-19. Tickets will be available online to purchase.

The pieces made by Pierce are all handmade and the materials come from thrift stores and other people’s personal collections. “I feel like this line has been coming for almost a year and a half now,” Pierce said.

Pierce has created a line that truly represents her. The inspiration comes from streetwear and Aaliyah believes, “it’s the new fashion, it’s the new norm and I think it’s going to last, change, evolve and change everyone’s fashion,” Pierce said.

This line has been in the making since November and the fashion show will showcase multiple Fashion Program students.

All the proceeds from the show will go straight to the students through scholarships. There will be three winners and each will receive money that will go towards their tuition.
