Budgeting Workshop
JCCC Financial Aid is hosting a budgeting basics workshop on Tuesday Oct. 27 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in room 101 of the Student Center.
The interactive workshop combines real life budgeting activities and valuable financial tips.
Budgeting is a helpful skill because it helps balance, covering your needs, enjoying your wants, reaching goals and avoiding financial stress.
Many students take loans and credit cards to help cover expenses like housing, food, transportation and books. Budgeting habits in college can help manage your income, financial aid, monthly expenses and debt more efficiently.
Six ways for establishing financial success are building financial responsibility, developing good spending and saving habits, avoiding debt and financial stress, enhancing money management skills, fostering open money conversations, and preparing for post-college financial life.
When you learn to budget while in college, you are not faced with figuring it out once you graduate and start making money. Taking time to create healthy habits will help build the foundation for financial habits that stick with you in adulthood.
