Happy second week of classes, Cavs, you made it through the hardest part of the semester. New Cavaliers were unfortunately welcomed to our campus with a parking situation that could only be described as World War 3. The improvements that are taking place at the MTC Upper West parking lot that caused the parking disaster were scheduled to be completed by the first day of classes, but unexpected weather delayed the progress. As Cavaliers, we must keep our faith in Jean Claude through these chaotic times.

Community college can feel like a crazy and fun mix of people and activities, so your first, second, third, fourth, even 20th semester can leave you feeling disconnected if you don’t get involved. Luckily, JCCC goes above and beyond to combat this epidemic of Community College Loneliness. Starting on the Get Involved page is a great way to discover clubs and events, or you could just tune into your favorite weekly column, Samsplaining, to hear the events of the week. Finding your place on campus can feel daunting, but I promise that taking the time to get involved and spend time on campus is the best way to have the best college experience. When I started here last year, I started as an awkward homeschool kid, and now I freaking love college.
