Leadership Module for Honors POLS 200 Model United Nations
Description:

This course module focus is on the political nature, mechanics, and concrete outcomes of leadership pertaining to Model United Nations
with a particular emphasis on team building. Borrowing from political science and leadership literature, this module seeks to familiarize students
with the significance of leadership (i.e., agency) in a complex educational setting.

Class meetings will entail student led discussions and projects designed to challenge you to employ multiple perspectives,
and develop ideas regarding leadership.

Objectives:
1. To understand and apply major theories of leadership to intercollegiate contexts.
2. To develop an understanding of the processes, practices and purposes of leadership.
3) To provide links between theory and practice.
4) To encourage student reflection regarding leadership styles

Leadership Expectations:

  1. Class members will be responsible for planning and setting organizing goals
  2. Facilitate  training of Model UN skills
  3. Facilitate team learning, prioritize collaboration and partnership
  4. Provide team building, recruiting and selecting team members

Module Requirements:
1. Attendance and participation
2. Discussion of readings
3. Projects and assignments
4. Reflection paper.
