Accessibility Open Office Hours (SP 2026)

We know that making course materials accessible can feel like a daunting item on your to-do list. Let’s tackle it together! Join the Ed Tech Center for dedicated working sessions designed to help you cross those items off your list. Stay for 15 minutes or the whole hour!

Whether you need to fix heading structures in your syllabus, add alt-text to images, or caption a lecture video, we will be there to troubleshoot in real-time.

What to expect:

  • Hands-on help: Instructional designers will be available to answer specific questions.
  • Productivity: A supported space to focus on making your content accessible. Progress:
  • Bring your laptop (optional) or work on one of our computers—leave with a more accessible course.

  • Explore techniques for making PDF files accessible to all users.

  • Accessible Math Editor: Word – This article is from the Perkins School for the Blind. It has a video and information on how to use the Word Math Editor to make accessible content. They recommend leaving documents as Word files (not PDF files).

May 15 – Adding Audio Descriptions to Videos

  • Learn how to enhance video accessibility by adding audio descriptions. Learn tips for how to record videos that include these descriptions up-front so you do not need to remediate them later.
