Student Screening Sales
I don’t know about you, but after a long day of classes, all I want is to grab a snack, curl up on my couch, and binge my latest TV show obsession. But with so many great shows and movies to watch, the cost of multiple streaming subscriptions quickly adds up. Luckily, many services offer fantastic student discounts so you can still binge your favorite shows, and not go broke. Here are my top five discounted streaming platforms for students.
#5 HBO MAX
At $4.99/month, HBO doesn’t offer the cheapest discount, however, this plan still saves you 50% off their regular rate.
#4 Paramount+
Currently offering 50% off ANY plan, this deal is a steal for students! While many streaming discounts do not include ad free viewing, Paramount+ allows students to select whichever plan they like best with a guaranteed reduction.
#3 Apple TV + Apple Music
Bundling your TV and music subscriptions could be the way to go, and with Apple TV, this plan goes for as low as $5.99/month.
#2 Peacock
Coming in as second most affordable on this list, Peacock offers students a bargain low of $2.99/month!
#1 Hulu
And finally, Hulu offers the most affordable student discount, priced at an unbelievable $1.99/month. That’s less than that latte that made you late for class!
So find your favorite comfort show, kick up those feet, and enjoy your entertainment guilt-free by taking advantage of these student perks you know you deserve!

Coping with Student Burnout
At some point in our college lives, all of us at JCCC tend to experience some burnout. The University of Georgia defines academic burnout as a “negative emotional, physical and mental reaction to prolonged study that results in exhaustion, frustration, lack of motivation and reduced ability in school.” Not everyone is used to balancing classes with work, as well as potential family obligations. Southern New Hampshire University reports that 85% of college students said that they felt overwhelmed by everything that they had to do at some point in the past year.
What makes someone a good student is learning how to cope by finding effective solutions. Some tips from Malvern Behavior Health include staying physically active, taking breaks, and lightening the work if at all possible.
I would also personally recommend getting as much sleep as possible. I know that it’s tempting to scroll on social media late at night, but you could regret it the next day. Use these tips well, and good luck with the remainder of your college studies.

Finding Your Way
My first year of college was very hard. I remember walking the halls, trying to find my class through a horde of people. So much walking just to head home and go to work. Life felt dull. After a year, I found my little community and it helped so much. They motivated me to stay and finish school. As a third-year student, I hope this article can help you find a couple of ways to help build your circle.
Get Involved
JCCC always has something going on. Whether you’re looking for a new club or just taking a break from the workload, you can always find something at the Get Involved Page. Check out some of their events and clubs and get connected.
Why Are People Randomly Asking Me Things?
At first, I was terrified of socializing. It took me almost a year of being a loner before I realized that people felt the same. What I never knew was that networking is so important for your future plans, so what better place to do that than with your classmates? Yeah, there’s awkward talks here and there, but it only lasts a few minutes and could lead to a new connection. You won’t know unless you try.
At the end of the day, JCCC is great because of the people who come here. We all have our goals we want to accomplish while we are here. For some, it’s making friends; others, it could be for a leg-up, or it’s beginning a new journey in life. No matter why you’re here, be yourself.
