The JCCC Cavaliers Women’s Volleyball extended their win streak to 25 following their win over Labette Community College Cardinals on Sept. 28.

The Cavs started off slow. After winning three rallies in a row in the first set, two errors quickly narrowed the lead to 3-2. They quickly got their act together and dominated the rest of the set to win 25-13.

That momentum carried over to the second set, the Cavs were virtually unchallenged until a 6-2 run from Labette brought the score to a close 13-10.

Head coach Jennifer Ei put trust in her team, electing not to call a timeout.

It is this point in the season and they need to work those out and come back and bounce back from it,” Ei said, “I let them work through it.”

And work through it they did, winning set two 25-14 following a double hit by Labette.

The third set echoed to the first two as the two teams initially traded serves, before the Cavs pulled away with it. Cavs freshman Sophie Ewy’s successful spike ended another respectable showing for the Cavs.

Volleyball faces off against rival Cowley County Community College Sept. 30.
