Art History and Humanities

As Picasso once said, “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” In the Art History and Humanities department we study what it means to be human — creativity and the arts. Our courses inspire students to recognize the creative capacity of others and as a result to see the world through a unique lens. Having such a phenomenal campus art collection right outside the classroom door enables our students to make direct connections to what they learn in class. Our award-winning faculty is comprised of former archaeologists, museum curators, gallery directors, professional musicians, actors, and published scholars who strive to bring the arts to life for our students.
