This website was designed for the sabbatical project of Susan Haas Brown that was approved for the Fall 2019. Susan Haas Brown was hired at JCCC in August 1981 in the Physical Development Department when Orville Gregory was the Athletic DIrector.
“The objective for this sabbatical is to compile a digital history of JCCC Athletics and physical education department. I will gather artifacts, documents, photos, videos and interview coaches, athletes and contributors in the JCCC Athletics Hall of Fame for personal stories. I will create a website and make it accessible. “
The Official site of Johnson County Community College Athletics is at jcccathletics.com and has all the information, records, statistics for all the current sports. Long time Sports Information Director Tyler Cundith and JCCC Athletic Hall of Fame inductee has given invaluable advice for this project. Without his expertise and records this would not have been possible. The facts about the sports teams, athletes and coaches were from the media guides provided by Cundith and from the JCCC Athletics website.
Any images and documents found on this website were from the Johnson County Community College Archives and digital library unless otherwise noted. A thank you goes out to all the individuals who made this possible but especially the archives staff, John Russell and Anita Gordon-Gilmore.
Interviews were made possible with equipment from JCCC Ed Tech center, Ed Lovett, Bob Epp and Saul Epstein. Barrett Beasley, Libby Kleve and Nathan Howe graciously gave access to the TV Studio for several days, amidst construction. THANK YOU ALL
