The Cavalier men’s baseball team, in just its second year of existence, won the school’s first region crown in 1974.
Coached by JCCC Hall of Famer Sonny Maynard and led by All-American pitcher Bob Downs and All-American infielder Mark Balderston, the Cavaliers posted a 33-7 record, and finished the season ranked 13th in the nation.
