The Gymnasium was one of the original buildings when the JCCC campus opened. The baseball field was completed the next year with games being played.
Original construction on campus included eight tennis courts and were west of the GYM building.
Demolition of these courts occurred in 1885 and changed to six courts. The tennis courts were removed to make way for the Career and Technical Education (CTE) building in 2018.
