Saint Patrick was a bishop, a missionary, and is a patron saint of Ireland. Although little is known about his life, he is believed to have died on the 17th of March around 460 A.D. Irish and Irish descendants all over the world celebrate March 17th as St. Patrick’s Day. According to History.com, “What began as a religious feast day for the patron saint of Ireland has become an international festival celebrating Irish culture with parades, dancing, special foods and a whole lot of green.” Many who are not Irish or of Irish descent also enjoy the festivities of St. Patrick’s Day.
