Extra Effort Awards – August 24, 2020
Amy Becker, Marketing Coordinator, Creative & Content Development – Nominated by Sherri Hanysz & Amy Warner Koch
Amy is an absolute joy to work with. She is dedicated and dogged in her perseverance to making things work just right. She handles our requests with such grace and determination. She has been solely instrumental in moving forms for students into a virtual environment and has made things so much easier for staff, faculty, and students in this process. Without Amy’s expertise, we would still be working with paper forms that require downloading, printing, and uploading in formats that most students do not have access to. She has made this possible with Dynamic Forms that allow ease for everyone with just our JCCC login credentials.
Chris Horvat, Senior Videographer/Editor, Video Services – Nominated by Susan Hoffman
A huge shout out to Chris for his outstanding work on the SERVICE PIN AWARD video and the AWARDSRECOGNITION video that were presented to campus during Professional Development Week. Chris demonstrated that he was the pinnacle professional during a recording session that lasted 4 hours. Thank you for your patience and kindness!
Jean Keating, Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant, Dining Services – Nominated by Courtney Barden
When it was discovered that the Food Court would not be open for the Fall semester on Saturdays, Jean helped create a system by which our students in the CLEAR Program can pre-order a lunch so that there would be options available. Jean took in to account the needs of the students that we serve when creating a more user-friendly site.

– Nominated by Peggy Barlett
During “Teach Out” this summer, these nursing faculty members were fantastic to work with! We completed 119 student evaluations, not to mention student practice appointments, within a little over a 3.5-week period. I also want to thank other faculty members who volunteered to assist the students in finishing up their Spring 2020 psychomotor skills but were not needed when the student census dropped. The faculty truly role modeled caring, teamwork, compassion, and safety. The students were so very grateful and if a team can make evaluations a positive experience—-this group of Faculty certainly stepped up. It is an honor to work with them.
