Jason has graciously rearranged his schedule to assist us, causing some challenges for his family. Jason deserves a “Shout Out” for his servant leadership!
Rachel Haynes, Coordinator Technical Training, Staff & Organizational Development – Nominated by Valerie Jones
JCAE hosted its first virtual career day. Rachel has been great support from the very first planning meeting until the day of the event. She made herself available for questions, advice, and provided feedback. Rachel served as our producer and did an excellent job. We appreciate her efforts in helping us make our career day a success!
Tristian Hughes, OHEC Receptionist/Office Assistant, Heal Occupations – Nominated by Mike Stithem
While traffic on our campus has been reduced by the COVID-19 virus, we have maintained a significant student and instructor presence at OHEC. With many staff continuing to work from home, Tristian has made her assistance available to all departments at OHEC. Specifically, Tristian has helped with preparing spaces for CNA testing, registering test takers, and troubleshooting technology issues throughout classrooms and offices.

Valerie Reese, Program Coordinator SBDC, Kansas Small Business Development Center – Nominated by Susan Hoffman
Sometimes it’s hard to admit when you need help and “Oh boy” was that the case! Valerie met with me via zoom to talk through my situation concerning a weekly report. She then spent about an hour reviewing and setting up Macros for my report. She followed up with another zoom. Valerie’s knowledge, support, and extra effort in helping me with this task has released a huge amount of stress and going forward will save me so much time. Thank you, Valerie, so very much!
Kathy Rhoades, Public Safety Officer – Nominated by Gregory Russell
PSO Rhoades’ work ethic is impeccable which exceeds the job description. She is among the first to volunteer without hesitation, her readiness to help others (staff/visitors) turn moments into memories, no task or service request appears insurmountable. PSO Rhoades’ dedication and commitment to the JCCC campuses make her the perfect candidate for the extra effort award.
