Service-Learning

The JCCC Service-Learning program defines Service-Learning as: “a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities.”
Service learning is a component of a course a student is enrolled in that has a requirement to complete a designated amount of hours with a non-profit organization that aligns with the course objectives of the class. You can earn 2 points towards honors completion by completing 20 hours of service as part of your service-learning course and submitting a reflection.
