Hurst Review NCLEX Scholarship

The Hurst Review NCLEX Scholarship recognizes Phi Theta Kappa members enrolled in nursing degree programs. The program awards up to 25 scholarships of $250 to cover the NCLEX exam fee and a passcode for a free subscription to the premier Hurst NCLEX Review. The scholarship program will open twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a nursing degree program through December 2022.
  • Be a Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing. Phi Theta Kappa alumni are eligible if currently in good standing with their nursing program and left their PTK chapter in good standing.
  • Be eligible to take the NCLEX exam in the semester following the award.
  • Hold temporary or permanent residency in the country of the college OR possess a visa considered appropriate by the college.
  • Demonstrate financial need, career goals, academic rigor, and community service.

Richard L. Resurreccion Public Safety Scholarship

This scholarship honors Richard L. Resurreccion, a member of the Board of Directors of the International Public Safety Leadership and Ethics Institute (IPSLEI) who is widely known for his expertise in the areas of life safety, technology, and emergency management. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a minimum of six (6) semester credit hours [or nine (9) quarter credit hours] of associate degree, college-level coursework at the time of application.
  • Be a Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing.
  • Hold a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative GPA out of a possible 4.0 on all college-level coursework at the time of application. No courses can be marked as incomplete.
  • Have completed at least 50 percent of coursework in an associate degree public safety program at a regionally accredited college by June. Eligible public safety programs include: Criminal Justice, Fire Science, Fire Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Public Safety Administration, Emergency Management, or Homeland Security.
  • NOT be a pre-major or certificate student.
  • Hold temporary or permanent residency in the country of the college OR possess a visa considered appropriate by the college.

Ronny J. Coleman Fire and Emergency Services Leader of the Future Scholarship

This scholarship honors Ronny J. Coleman, retired State Fire Marshal for the State of California, who is widely known as a certified Fire Chief and a Master Instructor in the California Fire Service Training and Education System. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) semester credit hours [or nine (9) quarter credit hours] of associate degree, college-level coursework at the time of application.
  • Be a Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing. Hold a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative GPA out of a possible 4.0 on all college-level coursework at the time of application. No courses can be marked as incomplete.
  • Have completed at least 50 percent of coursework in an associate degree public safety program at a regionally accredited college by June. Eligible public safety programs include: Fire Science, Fire Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Fire & Emergency Services Administration, Community Risk Reduction, Fire Engineering, Fire Prevention, or Public Safety Education.
  • NOT be a pre-major or certificate student.
  • Hold temporary or permanent residency in the county of the college OR must possess a visa considered appropriate by the college.

StudyBuddy TEAS Prep Scholarship

The StudyBuddy TEAS Prep Scholarship recognizes Phi Theta Kappa members enrolled in pre-nursing, nursing, and allied health degree programs. Students in medical assistant and certified nursing assistant programs are eligible as well. The program awards up to 35 students a 100% discount to enroll in the TEAS prep courses at StudyBuddy.live for a duration of up to 10 weeks. An additional 10 students will also receive a 100% discount in any other course excluding the TEAS prep courses. Discount codes cannot be combined. Recipients will be selected twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a PTK member or alumnus.
  • Be enrolled in a pre-nursing, nursing, or allied health program – including medical assistant and certified nursing assistant programs – and intend to take the TEAS exam in the future.

Walgreens Pharmacy Technician Certification Scholarship

The Walgreens Pharmacy Technician Certification Scholarship recognizes college students who are enrolled in Allied Health or Pharmacy Technician programs who intend to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam. The program awards up to 50 scholarships annually of $250 each to cover Pharmacy Technician Certification exam fees. The scholarship program will be open twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled in Allied Health or Pharmacy Technician programs through May 31, 2022.
  • Be eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam in the semester following the award.
  • Demonstrate financial need, career goals, academic rigor, and community service.
