Avila University Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Award

The Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Award provides $500 annually to Phi Theta Kappa members transferring to Avila University. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

Ball State University (Indiana) PTK

  • For out of state PTK students, we award students that transfer, after completing an associate degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher, a scholarship that gives them in-state tuition for two years if completing an on-campus degree.
  • For Indiana Residence that are Phi Theta Kappa members that transfer after completing an associate degree with a 3.5 or higher, we award a $4,500 scholarship renewable for 2 years if they are completing an on campus degree.


Emporia State University Phi Theta Kappa Membership Scholarship

New transfers starting at ESU each fall and spring, who have been active members of Phi Theta Kappa, are eligible for the PTK Member scholarship. Students beginning in the fall semester are eligible for a one-time award of $1,000 (distributed as $500 in the fall semester and $500 in the spring semester). Students beginning in the spring semester are eligible for a one-time award of $500. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Apply for admission to ESU.
  • Submit official transcripts.
  • Submit PTK membership documentation.
  • Enroll in 12 credit hours per semester.
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA.

Friends University Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is given to admitted transfer students who are Phi Theta Kappa members. Each recipient will be awarded $2,000 per year. Renewal of the scholarship requires a CGPA of 3.5. The deadline for applications to be considered for the 2022-23 academic year is June 1, 2022.

Graceland University Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Graceland University offers a Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship for students transferring from a two-year college to Graceland’s Lamoni campus or Graceland’s Independence Nursing Program. The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is only available to our traditional face-to-face programs (Lamoni campus and Independence campus Nursing). Students may qualify for up to $1,000. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • Be a current member of Phi Theta Kappa.
  • Have completed at least 24 semester hours from an accredited institution.
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 3.50.
  • Enroll as a full-time student.

Grand Canyon University Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

This award offers $1,000 per academic year if you are admissible to GCU, are a current member of Phi Theta Kappa and have a 3.5 or greater cumulative college GPA. These awards are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be combined with the Psi Beta Scholarship. This scholarship is only available for traditional, undergraduate on-campus students.

Guistwhite Scholarship

The Guistwhite Scholarship recognizes Phi Theta Kappa members for engagement and participation in Phi Theta Kappa chapter activities and societal programs, while also exhibiting leadership accomplishments and outstanding academic achievement during the pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.

The Guistwhite Scholarship honors Phi Theta Kappa International Honorary Member Dr. Jack Guistwhite and his wife, Margaret. Dr. Guistwhite developed the first transfer scholarship designated exclusively for Phi Theta Kappa members. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled through December 2021 in a minimum of six (6) semester credit hours [or nine (9) quarter credit hours] of associate degree, college-level coursework at the time of application.
  • Be an active member of Phi Theta Kappa in good standing.
  • Hold a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative GPA out of a possible 4.0 on all college-level coursework completed in the past five years. Include all transcripts, fall 2016 to present. GPA is evaluated at the time of application, and no courses can be marked as incomplete. You must maintain GPA until transfer to a four-year college.
  • Intend to transfer to a regionally accredited four-year college in fall 2022. You must be admitted in your major program of study and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (or the quarterly equivalent).
  • Have completed a minimum of 45 college-level semester credit hours (or the quarterly equivalent) by December 31, 2021, and at least 50 college-level semester credit hours (or the quarterly equivalent) at the time of transfer to a four-year college.
  • Hold temporary or permanent residency in the country of the college OR must possess a visa considered appropriate by the college.


Hites Scholarship

The Hites Transfer Scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement and rigor, engagement in college and community activities, and leadership accomplishment of Phi Theta Kappa members preparing to transfer to senior institutions in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree.

The scholarships are funded by a scholarship endowment established in 2010 as a result of a matching grant from the Hites Family Community College Scholarship Foundation. The first Hites Scholars were announced in 2010, expanding Phi Theta Kappa’s commitment to support transfer students in their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled through December 2021 in a minimum of six (6) semester credit hours [or nine (9) quarter credit hours] of associate degree, college-level coursework at the time of application.
  • Be a Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing.
  • Hold a mimimum of a 3.50 cumulative GPA out of a possible 4.0 on all college-level coursework completed in the past five years. Include all transcripts, fall 2016 to present. GPA is evaluated at the time of application, and no courses can be marked as incomplete. You must maintain GPA until transfer to a four-year college.
  • Intend to transfer to a regionally accredited four-year college in fall 2022. Student must be admitted to study on a full-time basis in his/her program of study.
  • Have completed a minimum of 45 college-level semester credit hours (or the quarterly equivalent) by December 31, 2021, and at least 50 college-level semester credit hours (or the quarterly equivalent) at the time of transfer to a four-year college.

Kansas State University Transfer Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Award

The PTK Award is a one-time non-renewable $500 award for students transferring directly from community colleges. In addition to one general university scholarship or award, students may be considered for the PTK Award. Membership in PTK must be established and confirmed by the end of the last FULL semester at the transfer institution. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above from transfer institution(s).
  • Be a PTK member during the last semester prior to attending K-State (will be verified with state PTK association).

Nebraska Wesleyan University Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Awards

Every PTK member who transfers to Nebraska Wesleyan’s traditional undergraduate program in Lincoln is eligible to receive ONE of these awards.

NWU-PTK Full Tuition Scholarship

  • Apply for this scholarship covering full tuition for up to three years.
  • One student receives the full-tuition award. All students who apply for this scholarship receive a $1,000 PTK Recognition Scholarship.

$24,000 Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship

  • Every PTK transfer student (except the full-tuition recipient) receives this automatic, renewable $24,000 scholarship.

Access NWU Full Tuition Scholarship

  • Students who are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant qualify for this renewable full-tuition award. Learn more about our Access NWU Scholarship.


New Century Pathway Scholarship

The student receiving the highest All-USA Academic Team application score in each state is named a New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar or a New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar. Students nominated for the Workforce pathway should be planning to enter the workforce after completing a certificate or associate degree, and students nominated for the Transfer Pathway should be planning to transfer to the four-year college after graduation. The program annually recognizes 104 scholars. Each New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar receives special recognition at the Association of Community College Trustees Congress. Each New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar receives special recognition at the American Association of Community Colleges Convention. To qualify for this scholarship:

  • Submit an application for the All-USA Academic Team.
  • Be selected as a nominee by your college.

Northwest Missouri State University Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship provides a renewable $3500 award to Phi Theta Kappa members transferring to Northwest Missouri State University. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA.
  • Complete a minimum of 24 transferrable credit hours by time of application.
  • Be accepted for admission by May 1.
  • Be a first-time student at Northwest Missouri State University.
  • Indicate Phi Theta Kappa Membership on application.

The Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Scholarship is a half-tuition scholarship awarded to Phi Theta Kappa members in good standing. The award is renewable for two additional consecutive years. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

Park University Phi Theta Kappa Recognition Scholarship

The Park University Phi Theta Kappa Recognition Scholarship is a renewable $1,000 scholarship awarded to incoming transfer students who meet or exceed stated eligibility criteria:

  • Maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA.
  • Complete an Associate Degree from an accredited institution (AA, AAS, AAB, AAT, or AS).
  • Submit a letter of reference from your college’s PTK adviser or proof of membership if not indicated on official transcript.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Park’s Core Values: Accountability, Civility, Respect, Excellence, Global Citizenship, Inclusivity, and Integrity.

University of Central Missouri Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship 1

The UM Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship 1 awards $14,000 ($7,000 per year for two years) to Phi Theta Kappa members transferring to Northwest Missouri State University. Members of the All Mississippi Team will receive an additional one-time only $1,000 scholarship and an additional $1,000 one-time only scholarship will be awarded to those students who become members of the All American Team. Non-residents will receive an additional $7,000 per year for two years toward the non-resident fee. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Maintain a GPA between 3.25 and 3.49 on at least 48 transferrable college credit hours.
  • Show proof of membership in Phi Theta Kappa.

University of Central Missouri Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship 2

The UM Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship 2 awards $16,000 ($8,000 per year for two years) to Phi Theta Kappa members transferring to Northwest Missouri State University. Members of the All Mississippi Team will receive an additional one-time only $1,000 scholarship and an additional $1,000 one-time only scholarship will be awarded to those students who become members of the All American Team. Non-residents will receive an additional $7,000 per year for two years toward the non-resident fee. To qualify for this scholarship, you must:

  • Maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher on at least 48 transferrable college credit hours.
  • Show proof of membership in Phi Theta Kappa.
