Healthcare Information Systems – HCIS
HCIS student Shinilja Kuttipuravan is the recipient of the HIMSS Foundation Professional Certification Grant for Minority Professionals and Students. The global grant program, which is designed to help create an inclusive workforce in healthcare information and technology, prepares underrepresented students and professionals to become a Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS) or a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS).
Web Development and Digital Media – WEB
Whitney Bandel (chair of WDDM) will be attending and representing the department at “Digital Scene KC: Experience Design”, hosted by Dimensional Innovations, on January 23rd, 2024. The event will feature panel discussion from leaders at Dimensional Innovations on Experience Design as well as guest exhibitions of work by Derek Scherer (Corpusim) and Steve Biegun (Senior Technical Artist at Industrial Light & Magic).
Community Partnerships
Assistant Professor Allison Hanna is currently working with a representative from H&R Block to set up a summer internship program for students studying web analytics in Web 120.
