SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Sr. Clinical Analyst serves as a key onsite clinical IT resource for facility implementation and support of a broad set of clinical applications. Duties:

  • Coordinates facility clinical application reporting requests and assists with defining report requirements and validates reporting results
  • May develop clinical application reports as needed
  • Performs quality audits and tracks metrics related to clinical  application use
  • Participates in meetings as a member of facility clinical  leadership
  • Promotes system security and patient confidentiality and  helps ensure compliance
  • Coordinates the execution and use of tools for audits
  • Builds strong relationships at the facility with core customer  base (nurses, physicians, core team members, etc.) and facility leadership

Position Overview This position provides application administration, development, and support services for the KU Libraries. The emphasis is on library management and scholarly communications systems such as Integrated Library Management System and catalog, interlibrary loan system, institutional repository, digital collections systems, and other applications related to teaching, learning and research at the university.  This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of software from conception to end of life.  This responsibility includes application installation, configuration, customization, maintenance, troubleshooting, and the addition, removal, or modification of features in pre-existing software and creation or modification of new in-house software applications.  This position will utilize existing purchased or open-sourced software (such as DSpace, Islandora, Omeka, etc), and will be asked to investigate and create custom solutions.   Some of these custom solutions will include, but not be limited to integration and automation development.  This position will be using Linux and Free and Open Source Software extensively on a daily basis.

An example project for this position would be the following.

  • Pull in a new software release from a third party git repository into our git repository.
  • Merge the changes in the new release with our current code base, including custom features at the source code level.
  • Work with staff to test/validate new release, expose new features of release, update KU-custom features, and create new features.
  • Install new release into production during approved maintenance windows. Support & troubleshoot moving forward.

HyVee: Information Technology Internship Summer 2016

Hy-Vee, Inc., is a progressive company working on a wide variety of technologies such as Mobile Computing, Virtualization, Supply Chain Optimization, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Data Security, Computer Assisted Ordering, and Web and Mobile development.

The Information Technology department will be hiring 9 interns for the summer of 2016. This group will be visiting the stores to install and update Windows computer systems throughout Hy-Vee’s eight state area.  Tasks will include installing new servers, working with Active Directory and Hyper-V, as well as staging and deploying workstations.  We will be performing various other maintenance tasks and software updates.  We are looking for individuals currently studying for a degree in MIS, Computer Science, or some other technical field.  The necessary training required for this project will be provided.

The position will be Monday through Friday, with travel and overnight stays. The internship will begin in mid-May and conclude in mid-August.  All interns must have a valid driver’s license.  Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Paid Internship: $15 hr.
