Salary Range: MA-03 to MA-10 or $8 to $12 per hour depending on experience.

Opening Period: Tuesday, December 6, 2016 to Friday, December 16, 2016. The opening may be extended if no qualified candidates apply during the opening period.

Position Information: Full-Time Not-To-Exceed 1 Year from Appointment Date

Duty Location: Lenexa, Kansas.

Job Summary, Qualifications, & Requirements

Our office is seeking an IT Intern who will be tasked with the following assignment. The successful candidate will be able to assist in migrating an existing database from SQL Server to an IBM iSeries database. Our IT platform relies on extensive COBOL & DB2 programming. Consideration would be given to a candidate with those programming abilities. Additionally, the Intern will be expected to work with IT staff members in creating and developing relational database tools and functionality to query data on the iSeries.

Intern candidates must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited technical school, college, or university in a curriculum relating to the above qualifications and requirements.

Benefits

Limited federal benefits may be available. This position is eligible for telework. However, many of the job duties associated with this position will require extensive collaboration with existing IT staff and prolonged telework may not be possible. This internship may be structured to work within parameters of college class schedules or specified internship timeframes. Pay will be based on intermittent hours worked. A Not-To-Exceed Appointment may be terminated by either party at any time during the one-year term.

The successful applicant has the potential to be converted into a full-time position without having to re-apply for the position.
