Software Developer – Information Technology
We have an opening in the Information Technology Department for a Software Developer. Hy-Vee’s Information Technology Department utilizes the latest hardware, software, and programming languages while working in Agile teams. Our Software Developers have the opportunity to learn all aspects of our business processes in developing new applications that will help Hy-Vee. This is a full-time position located at the West Des Moines Corporate Office.
Summary
Researches, creates, enhances, and maintains computer programs. Determines the most efficient and effective way to provide and develop a quality solution. Assists their project leader to solve technical, software, or procedural problems. Keeps project leader informed of the status of assigned tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
| 1. | Creates accurate, efficient and effective program design and code |
| 2. | Thoroughly tests program changes and provides adequate proof of such tests |
| 3. | Researches problem and enhancement requests to develop efficient and effective solutions |
| 4. | Consistently completes assigned programming and research tasks by requested completion date |
| 5. | Reports to work when scheduled and on time |
Secondary Responsibilities
| 1. | Attends and is prepared to participate in department and company meetings |
| 2. | Performs other job related duties and special projects as required |
Skills/Technologies/Equipment
- C#/ VB.NET, WPF
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Microsoft Reporting Services
- Agile Development
- PC, Microsoft Office suite, telephone and calculator
Minimum Education/Experience
High School plus two to three years of additional schooling in computer science/programming or equivalent experience; Six months to one year of similar or related work experience.
