 I. JOB SUMMARY 

Under limited supervision, complete medium to high complexity projects. Independently support database environments development and maintenance efforts.  Work with IT internal and external teams to define and implement database solutions in support of the new and existing systems.

The qualified candidate will be responsible for implementation of physical database objects, databases administration, troubleshooting, performance improvements, and monitoring. The qualified candidate will be expected to participate in database physical design, data access, and requirements definition, as well as following database administration directions.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing, education and production usage.
  • Perform ongoing databases tuning
  • Install new versions of the SQL Server RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access databases.
  • Plan and implement databases backups and recovery.
  • Control migrations of programs, database changes, and reference data changes through the development life cycle.
  • Implement and enforces security for all of databases.
  • Perform databases re-organizations, as required, to assist with performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.
  • Follow DBA standards to support proper integrity, security, and performance of the databases
  • Evaluate releases of SQL Server and its tools.
  • Ensure any new product usage or releases takes place with minimal impact.
  • Provide technical support to application development teams.
  • Perform administration of all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures.
  • Assist with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
  • Troubleshoot problems associated with databases
  • Create new database users as required.

III. REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years’ work experience as SQL Server DBA
  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in computer science or equivalent work experience required
  • Good knowledge of the SQL Server physical database design, backup and recovery, and security management
  • Experience and knowledge in code migrations, database changes, enforcement of the data integrity, and performance tuning
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, initiative, and organization skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

The Sr. Data Analyst is responsible for reviewing and validating data requirements, providing technical data solutions, and designing logical and physical data structures in support of business data needs. The Sr. Data Analyst must demonstrate the ability to analyze business requirements to develop high-level and detailed data, and access models, conduct business and technical data assessments, and document business metadata. II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, document, and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models for medium to high complexity projects.
  • Reverse engineer source system data structures for model sourcing
  • Lead definition, communication and governance of the data modeling standards
  • Convert logical data models into the first cut physical database models and coordinate generation of DDL with Data Base Administrators (DBAs).

III. REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of work experience in a Database management position (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years using data modeling tools such as CA ERwin, ER Studio, Sybase PowerDesigner supporting IT development projects
  • Experience supporting one major RDBMS platform (DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server)
  • College degree in a software development discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Must work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet accelerated timelines.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to guide junior level data analysts in their work effort
  • Must possess adequate leadership skills in order to lead and facilitate data design and enhancements efforts.

I. JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Security Engineer will serve as the lead technical contributor in providing support and development of capabilities in the Information Security Areas of involvement. In addition to day to day support and maintenance work within the team’s incident and request activities, this engineer will help lead the technical team’s activities around system design, architecture and integration of security frameworks with the company’s application development, and infrastructure teams.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, configure, test and maintain Security systems, application software and system management tools
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Monitor and test Security architectures, identify possible solutions, and work with “developers” to implement those fixes
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. General support, administration and maintenance of ServiceNow platform and associated applications. YRC Freight currently uses the following modules within the Fuji release: Incident, Problem & Change Management, Lite CMDB/Asset Management, Service Catalog/Request, CMS Self Service Portal and Knowledge Management
  2. Work closely with ServiceNow functional team members to build requested items and tasks using workflows to manage processes from the customer to the fulfillment teams.
  3. Work closely with ServiceNow functional team members to configure and improve core application capabilities
  4. Work directly with end users to resolve support issues within ServiceNow
  5. Monitor health, usage and overall compliance of ServiceNow and its applications
  6. Develop systems integrations and process automation
  7. Design, create and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts and ACLs including advanced scripting of each (including CMS and advanced integrations)
  8. Design, create and configure Notifications, UI pages, UI Macros, Script Includes, Formatters, etc. in ServiceNow

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a similar technical discipline or comparable experience
  2. 5 – 8 years’ experience as a technical resource in delivery engagements; 2 years technical lead experience
  3. Minimum 2-3 years direct experience as a ServiceNow administrator configuring core ServiceNow modules in an enterprise environment including the delegation of groups, modification of CMS, workflows, business rules, UI actions, UI policies, ACLs, dictionary, catalog items and updates of all other existing solutions requiring revisions
  4. Possess an in-depth knowledge of the technical implementation of various ServiceNow modules including: Incident, Problem & Change Management, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, Configuration Management, Reporting, LDAP, SSO, MID Server, Inbound / Outbound emails and Discovery
  5. ServiceNow System Administrator Certification – required; Implementation Specialist Certification – preferred

Position Overview

This position provides web development support services for the KU Libraries. Their skillsets will be applied to library management and scholarly communications systems such as the Drupal-based Library Website, digital collections and online exhibits, the institutional repository, and search and discovery tools, and other applications related to teaching, learning and research at the university.

This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of web sites and applications from conception to end of life.  This responsibility includes user experience design, dynamic interactivity, integrating applications with external systems, and accessibility. This position will utilize existing purchased or open-sourced software (such as Drupal, Islandora, Omeka, etc), and will be asked to investigate and create custom solutions.

Example projects for this position would include:

  • Design and develop a landing page for a specific Libraries project using the KU CMS and template, applying styling and enhancements using CSS and JavaScript
  • Use a programming language to add new features to a web application
  • Optimize web content for the end-user experience, accessibility, and SEO

Reporting in KU Information Technology, the position is part of a team that works in partnership with Libraries staff to provide quality information services to the user community.  This position will be communicating with staff in both the Libraries and Information Technology on a daily basis.

Duties

  1. 50% – Web Development & Support
  2. Develops, improves upon, and maintains Libraries websites through the KU CMS utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other tools as needed for the project.
